Custom alder cabinets feature inset drawers and a silvery driftwood finish. A door on the left leads to the ADU. Nine-foot ceilings help the compact first floor feel more spacious. The custom TV cabinet on the right side of this photo does triple duty: As a partition wall, it separates the living and dining areas, and, with a cantilevered bench on the dining room side, it provides seating at the table.
